Hi, My Name is Mike Akins

I have known Mike for 30 plus years. I have watched him minister to so many people in those years and watched their lives changed for the better. He has personally helped me in many ways including how to be a better Mom and I will be eternally grateful for that.

Mike is a true representation of how commitment, compassion, and vision can affect those around you and mold your future, no matter your upbringing. You’d never guess the life he has lived based on who he is. He’s always ready and willing to help anyone in need, no matter how they treat him. I’m grateful to know him and call him my friend.

Mike Akins has been a mentor and friend to me for over 30 years. He brought life to the scriptures in a way that gave me hope that I could truly become the person God created me to be. Mike's life is an example of the transformation that can take place in a person's life when they apply Biblical principles. He has a truly humanitarian heart with a deep desire to help those in need, a living example of the scripture Luke 4:18, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free."

Mike Akins is the kindest person I've met. I've known Mike for over 45 years. He has given thousands of dollars for the hungry, homeless and people affected by disasters. He gives without hesitation.

I am so thankful for Mike. He has been such a blessing to my family. I had a very rough start in life. I was a very troubled young lady with a tremendous amount of emotional injuries. Mike took me under his wing, and spent countless hours sharing truth from God’s word with me, and teaching me how to apply it to my life. I am a completely different person today because of it. In addition, Mike has been a mentor to my family. He has been a counselor for my husband and I when we needed it, and has made a tremendous effect on my son’s life. He helped my son though the toughest seasons of his life. Because of his weekly counseling sessions with Mike, he is on the right path today. Mike helped break down the scriptures in a way that was relatable to him and what he was going through, and how to apply them to his life. Mike Akins is our mentor and forever friend.

Mike’s humanitarian programs for troubled teens gave me an opportunity to have a future from my past. It influenced me so much so, as an adult my wife & I over a decade worked with youth & young adults.

I appreciate the opportunity to attend the school Mike started for troubled youth. In my early teen years I was had a habit of stealing everywhere I went. With the help I received throughout junior and senior high school, I was able to experience real change in how I thought about life. Mike was able to help me with more opportunities in life that led to even greater success as an adult.

I met Mike when I was 14 years old. I came from a broken home and was a very messed up young man. Mike befriended me and over the course of months and years he became a mentor to me. We would take long walks and talk about life and how to succeed. It impacted my life in such a profound way and set me on a path to change my life. Now I try to do the same for others.
I owe a debt of gratitude to Mike Akins for showing me what Christ can do through a person. 

Mike has been an inspiration in my life since the day I met him. His mentorship has helped lead me into a life I could have never imagined. I am thankful that he leads by example in all he does. He is a great mentor to be able to follow in this life. His legacy will on through me and all I do throughout my future.

I have known Mike for close to 50 years. I have been impressed by the many individuals that he has made a difference in. He is so sacrificial. Mike puts God first in his life.
